2631 : God sent His Son

God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus; He came to love, heal and forgive. He lived and died to buy my pardon; An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives. Because He lives I can face tomorrow, Because He lives all fear is gone Because I know, He holds the future ; And life is worth the living just Because He lives. 1. How sweet to hold a newborn Baby, and feel the pride and joy he gives; But greater still the calm assurance: This child can face uncertain days because He lives. 2. And then one day I'll cross the river; I'll fight life's final war with pain. And then, as death gives way to victory, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He reigns. 2632 G What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and grieves to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer! 1. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer. 2. Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He'll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there. 3. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised, Thou wilt all our burdens bear; May we ever, Lord, be bringing All to Thee in earnest prayer. Soon in glory bright, unclouded, There will be no need for prayer Rapture, praise, and endless worship, Will be our sweet portion there. 2633 F When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His word, What a glory He sheds on our way; while we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey forthere's is no other way To be happy in Jesus But to trust and obey. 1. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, not sigh or a tear, can abide while we trust and obey. 2.Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, But our toil He doth richly repay Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, But is blest if we trust and obey. 3. But we never can prove the delights of His love, Until all on the alter we lay; For the favour He shows, and the joy He bestows, are for them who will trust and obey. 4. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet, Or we'll walk by His side in the way; What He says we will do; where He sends we will go, Never fear, only trust and obey. 2634 G In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storms what heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All, Here in the love of Christ I stand 1. In Christ alone, who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe; This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save: 'Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid, Here in the death of Christ I live 2. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain ; Then bursting forth in glorious Day, Up from the grave He rose again: And as He stands in victory, Sin's curse has lost its grip on me; For I am His and He is mine, Bought with the precious blood of Christ. 3. No guilt in life, no fear in death. This is the power of Christ in me; from life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny: No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand; 'Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand. 2635 G Just as I am, without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bid'st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 1. Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 2. Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, Fighting within and fears without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 3.Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; Sight, riches, healing of the mind, Yea, all I need in Thee to find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 4. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 5. Just as I am, Thy love unknown Has broken every barrier down; Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 2636 G I hear the Savior say, thy strength indeed is small Child of weakness watch and pray, Find in me Thine all in all. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin have left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. 1. Lord now indeed I find Thy power in Thine alone, Can change the leprous spot, and melt the heart of stone. 2. For nothing good have I, where by Thy grace to claim. I'll wash my garments white in the blood of Calvary's Lamb. 3. And when before the throne, I stand in Him complete, Jesus died my soul to save, my lips shall still repeat. 2637 W I will sing of my Redeemer and His wondrous love to me; on the cruel cross He suffered from the curse He set me free. Sing, Oh sing of my Redeemer with His blood, He purchased me, on the cross, He sealed my pardon, paid the debt, and made me free. 1. I will tell the wondrous story How my lost estate to save. In His boundless love and mercy, He the ransom freely gave. 2. I will praise my dear Redeemer, His triumphant power I'll tell, how the victory He giveth over sin, and death, and hell. 3.I will sing of my Redeemer, And His heavenly love to me He from death to life hath brought me, Son of God, with Him to be.
