2612 : In tenderness he sought me

In tenderness he sought me Weary and sick with sin And on his shoulders brought me, back to his fold again While angels in his presence sang until the courts of heaven rang. Oh the love that sought me Oh the blood that bought me Oh the grace that brought me to the fold Wondrous grace that brought me to the fold. 1. He washed the bleeding sin wounds and poured in oil andwine He whispered to assure me "I've found Thee, Thou art mine," I never heard a sweeter voice it made my aching heart rejoice 2. He pointed to the nail prints for me His blood was shed A mocking crown so thorny, was placed upon His head I wondered what He saw in me to suffer such deep agony 3. I'm sitting in His presence the sunshine of His face While with adoring wonder His blessings I retrace It seems as if eternal days are far too short to sound His praise 4. So while the hours are passing all now is perfect rest I'm waiting for the morning, the brightest and the best When He will call us to his side, to be with him His spotless bride. 2613 W O what a wonderful, wonderful day, Day I will never forget; After I'd wandered in darkness away, Jesus my savior I met. O what a tender compassionate friend, He met the needs of my heart; Shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling He made all the darkness depart. Heaven came down and glory filled my soul. When at the cross my saviour made me whole My sins were washed away and my night was turned to day. (Heaven came 1. Born of the spirit with life from above into God's familydivine; Justified fully through Calvary's love, O what a standingis mine! And the transaction so quickly was made, when as asinner I came Took of His offer of grace He did offer, He saved me,O praise His dear name! 2. Now I have a hope that will surely endure after the passing of time; I have a future in heaven for sure, There in those mansions sublime. And it's because of that wonderful day When at the cross I believed; Riches eternal and blessing supernal, From His precious hand I received. 2614 W Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changes not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Great is Thy faithfulness! (2) Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! 1. Summer and winter and spring time and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness , To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. 2. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! 2615 W There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from Immanuel's veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains. 1. The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away. 2. Dear dying lamb, Thy precious blood, Shall never lose itspower; Till all the ransomed church of God, be saved to sin no more. 3. E'er since by faith I saw the stream, Thy flowing wounds supply Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die. 4. Then in a nobler, sweeter song I'll sing Thy power tosave , When this poor lisping stammering tongue lies silent in thegrave. 2616 W Holy HolyHoly! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee Holy HolyHoly, merciful and mighty, God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity. 1. Holy HolyHoly! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns, around the glassy sea; Cherubim and Seraphim falling down before Thee, Who wert and art and evermore shalt be. 2. Holy HolyHoly, though the darkness hide Thee Though the eye of sinful man Thy Glory may not see; Only Thou art Holy, there is none beside Thee, Perfect in power, in love and purity. 2617 F All to Jesus I surrender, All to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live. I surrender all, I surrender all All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all. 1. All to Jesus I surrender, humbly at His feet I bow, Worldly pleasures all forsaken; Take me, Jesus, take me now. 2. All to Jesus I surrender, Make me, Savior, wholly Thine; Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit, Truly know that Thou art mine. 3. All to Jesus I surrender, Lord, I give myself to Thee; Fill me with Thy love and power; Let Thy blessing fall on me. 4. All to Jesus I surrender, now I feel the sacred flame. Oh, the joy of full salvation! Glory, glory to His name! 2618 F How I praise Thee, precious Savior, that Thy love laid hold of me; Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me, that I might Thy channel be. Channels only, blessed Master, but with all Thy wondrous grace, flowing through us, Thou canst use us, every hour in every place. 1.Just a channel, full of blessing, to the thirsty hearts around; to tell out Thy full salvation, All Thy loving message sound. 2. Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me, A clean vessel in Thine hand; with no strength but as Thou givest, graciously with each command. 3. Witnessing Thy grace to save me, Setting free from self and sin; Thou hast bought me to possess me, In Thy fullness, Lord, come in. 4. O Lord, fill now with Thy Spirit Hearts that full surrender know; that the streams of living water from our inner man may flow. 2619 F I am Thine O Lord I have heard Thy voice And it told Thy love to me, but I long to rise in the arms of faith And be closer drawn to Thee. Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord to the cross where Thou hast died Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord to Thy precious bleeding side. 1. Consecrate me now to Thy service Lord by the power of grace divine, let my soul look up with a steadfast hope and my will be lost in Thine. 2. Oh the pure delight of a single hour that before Thy throne I spend, when I kneel in prayer and with Thee my God I commune as friend with friend. 3. There are depths of love that I cannot know till I cross the narrow sea, there are heights of joy that I may not reach till I rest in peace with Thee. 2620 F Sing them over again to me, wonderful words of life! Let me more of their beauty see, wonderful words of life! Word of life and beauty, teach me faith and duty! Beautiful words! Wonderful words! Wonderful words of Life! 1. Christ the blessed one gives to all, Wonderful words of life! Sinner, list to the loving call, Wonderful words of life! All so freely given, wooing us to Heaven! 2. Sweetly echo the gospel call! Wonderful words of life! Offer pardon and peace to all! Wonderful words of life! Jesus, Only Saviour, Sanctify forever! 2621 F More about Jesus would I know, More of His grace To others show; More of His saving fullness see, More of His love who died for me. More, More about Jesus, (2) More of His saving fullness see, more of His love who died for me. 1. More about Jesus let me learn, More of His holywill discern; Spirit of God my teacher be, showing the things of Christ to me. 2. More about Jesus in His word, holding communionwith my Lord; Hearing His voice in every line, making each faithfulsaying mine. 3. More about Jesus; on His throne Riches in gloryall His own; More of His kingdoms sure increase, more of His coming, Prince of Peace. 2622 F There's a land that is fairer than day, And by faith we can see it afar; For the Father waits over the way, to prepare us a dwelling place there. In the sweet by and by, we shall meet on that beautiful shore. (2) 1. We shall sing on that beautiful shore, the melodious songs of the blest; And our spirits shall sorrow no more, Not a sigh for the blessing of rest. 2. To our bountiful Father above, we will offer our tribute of praise, For the glorious gift of His love, and the blessings that hallow our days. 2623 F We have heard the joyful sound, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Spread the gladness all around, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Bear the news to every land; Climb the steeps and cross the waves; Onward! It's our Lord's command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves! 1. Waft it on the rolling tide, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Tell to sinners, far and wide, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Sing, ye islands of the sea! Echo back, ye ocean caves! Earth shall keep her jubilee; Jesus saves! Jesus saves! 2. Sing above the battle's strife, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! By His death and endless life, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Sing it softly through the gloom, when the heart for mercy craves; Sing in triumph o'er the tomb, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! 3. Give the winds a mighty voice, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Let the nations now rejoice; Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Shout salvation full and free, highest hills and deepest caves; This our song of victory; Jesus saves! Jesus saves! 2624 F My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand (2) 1.When Darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace. In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. 2.His oath, His covenant, and His blood support me in the whelming flood. When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay. 3. When He shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in Him be found! Dressed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before His throne. 2625 F Nearer my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me; Still all my song shall be nearer, my God to Thee, Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! 1.Though like a wanderer, the sun gone down, Darkness be over me,my rest a stone; Yet in my dreams I'd be nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! 2.There let the way appear steps unto heav'n; All that Thou sendest me in mercy giv'n; Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! 3.Then with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise; So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! 4. Or if on joyful wing, cleaving the sky, Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upwards I fly, Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
